We, the Brandeis Divestment Campaign, are serious about tackling climate change in our role as students. Being at Brandeis, the idea of “social justice” is well-woven into the way we view the issue. And we act as students because we have the privilege to, and because the time allotted to humanity to solve this crisis calls for it.

Divestment should be seen as a first step into creating the world that we want to see; alongside policy change and wider, popular action, we need to be investing our money in a way that shows the imperative to move beyond fossil fuels and “business as usual.”

We know that this is possible, and we’ve got 255+ other campuses backing us up. Our demand:

  1. Immediately freeze any new investments in the top 200 public-traded fossil fuel companies.
  2. Phase out all direct and indirect holdings over the next five years.

We hope that the information on these pages will help you to learn more about this movement as it comes into its own.

Onward and upward, Brandeis ∆ Campaign
